Philip was the first of the family to move to OH. He had a tract of undeveloped land bordering Meander Creek in Ellsworth Twp. Mahoning Co., near the old Butler mills. Philip was the grandfather of Jefferson, separate note for Jefferson. Samuel was Philip's father and Samuel is the start having come from Germany near the headwaters of the Rhine.
