Note: Detrick was listed as Friederich Mennardt on the ship passenger list when he emigrated. On the petition to create York County in 1747 he is Thuderich Mummert. His will gives Deterick and Detrick Mummert. A German researcher feels that the name Deterick or Detrick is an American change to the German name Theodore or Theobald. The original ships list gives the surname as Mummard so the correct name may be Theodore Mummard. From Gleim's book: "John Mummert, an early record keeper for the Congregation, changed the spelling...from Mummard to Mummert."
