Shared Note	Title: Diehl Biographies URL: http://searches1.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/archives/pa/blair/bios/sell/cre-fin .txt Note: Aaron Diehl taught school two terms, served an apprenticeship at carpentreing, made spledid household furniture much of which is sought as heirlooms and later added gunsmithing before the breech-loader was invented and photography when the 'tintype' first appeared. Later he was a jeweler and optician to the end of his active life. Few men could so so many things and do them well. Never an aspirant for public office, he did much clerical writing of deeds and documents for his neighbors, in the days before printed forms were in use. He was an Elder in Mount Hope Reformed Church, and a life long Democrat, and spent all of his useful life in the Blue Knob country, Blair County, PA. Aaron Diehl and his wife were both natives of Greenfield Township and he died here in February, 1910. In early life he learned carpentering and cabinet making, and later followed same in connection with general repairing and farming. In politics he was a Democrat, and served as assessor and as a member of the school board of Juniata Township. Of the children born of his union with Catherine Imler, the following are still living: Maria, who is the wife of William Mosel of Greenfield Township; John C.* ‎(Calvin* See below)‎, who is a resident of Juniata Township; G. Calvin, who resides in Greenfield Township; Della, who married J. C.* ‎(John Calvin*)‎ Bowser of Greenfield Township; and Alfred N., and Howard, both of whom live in Greenfield Township. Aaron Diehl and wife were members of the German Reformed church.
